Term 2, week 5

We have started to turn our thoughts to Christmas this week. On Wednesday the children decorated our beautiful Christmas tree, as you can see, it has been done very tastefully! We have started to talk about our show, to practice some Christmas songs and to write a letter to Father Christmas, which the children enjoyed posting in the post box at the end of St Marks road. We have also introduced sewing to the children this week, which has been incredibly popular.

During forest school sessions this week the children have enjoyed continuing to clear the new, winter space under the Yew tree. The mud kitchen is now in the bushes, the fire pit area has been moved to create more space for playing, and a new path has been built between the yew tree area and the hobbit house to stop the journey being so slippery! The children have worked so hard on their new area, it looks amazing and opens up so many more opportunities for winter play.

The children have been thinking about our native wildlife and have made peanut butter faces in the yew tree. They helped make a hide and watched the squirrels and birds peck at the peanut butter. They have also built some great balancing courses from loose parts resources , then helped each other to make it all around the course without falling off, great teamwork!

Don't forget, the raffle is live!

Happy weekend everyone, Dena xx
